The K room is FULL of ladybugs!

This week the Kindergarteners began their unit on ladybugs.  We had fun in literacy corners focusing on the life cycle of a ladybird beetle from egg to larva to pupa to adult and making puppets with six legs and two antennae. 


Are you up for a challenge?  Come on in and see if you can figure out who made each ladybug on our clothesline using our class glyph.  Or see if you can solve our hide-a-bug addition story problems hanging in the hallway!

The students used their estimation and measurements skills when their “ladybugs took flight”, our results are hanging in the math/science corner of our room!  They also made AB AAB ABB ABC patterns with different colored ladybugs. 

The K kids continued to work on their poetry with two different styles using the red, black-spotted ladies as their muses.  This writing served as a good warm up for our mother’s day books, where we all got to write about our very FAVORITE ladies <3.
